An Observance for Commonwealth Day 2006 in presence of Her Majesty The Queen on 13 March 2006
A special service was conducted on Monday, 13 March 2006 at St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney in observance for the Commonwealth Day 2006 in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh. Representing The Hindu Council, Mr Vijai Singhal attended the service and read one of the affirmations. The whole programme was televised by the ABC TV.
Following the service at the Cathedral, Mr Singhal was introduced as the gentleman representing the Hindu community in Australia by the Prime Minister Hon. John Howard to Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II at the reception held at Admiralty House, Kirribilli, Sydney.
