Global warming has become the most important issue facing the humanity and it is the duty of every one of us to contribute in whatever manner we can to reduce the effects of climate change. The Hindu Council of Australia, supported by the ARRCC (Australian Religious Response to Climate Change) and the *Australian Vegetarian Society are organising a half-day conference in Sydney on 2nd October 2008 to promote the concept of reduction of meat consumption in our diet to address this very important problem. It is the most direct and economical way of reducing greenhouse gas emission and at the same time improving our health.
*National vegetarian week (29 September – 5 October 2008) is also being observed by the Australian Vegetarian Society. It features a comparison of high meat, plant-based and vegetarian seven-day meal plans and tasty, contemporary recipes the whole family will love.
